Fucecchio Marshes

Fucecchio Marshes is a true paradise for birdwatchers, as well as the natural pearl of the Montalbano area.

The Fucecchio Marshes is considered the natural pearl of the Montalbano area with its vast wetland rich in floristic and faunistic presences of great interest.
Inside the area you can see the species that characterize it range from the royal fern to the big charge, from the bite of the frog, to the herons, which nest here in colony.
During the migratory phases, you can also see the crane and the black stork.

Fucecchio Marshes represents a true paradise for birdwatchers with a total of over 200 species of birds that can be observed and with its 1800 hectares of horseback stretch between the provinces of Florence and Pistoia represents the largest inland marsh Italian.

The Fucecchio Marshes is rich in vertebrates and invertebrates of considerable interest, among many insects many Northern-beetles are thermal microbes, as seen for floristic entities. This environment plays a key role in migratory routes between the Tyrrhenian coast and the Inland: here you can observe more than 200 species of birds, including at least 70 nesting birds.
